Competitions are a great way to define your dance goals, focus your practice and elevate your skills.
In 2025, Swing Patrol Lindy Friday is hosting a series of low-stress, maximum-fun Mini Comps. Throughout the year, there will be short competitions held at Lindy Friday, with a schedule that highlights various swing dance styles, aimed at dancers of all levels.
All competitions will be run as instant finals, with no heats or prelims.
It’s free to compete (but you do need to pay at the door to attend Lindy Friday). Registration will be via google form, with links for each competition to be provided prior to the comp date.
The number of entrants in each competition will be strictly limited – a quick comp is a good comp, and we will not be running multiple heats.

Our first comp was 30 Second Showcase on Friday 21 March 2025.
A choreography competition, for any and all styles of swing dance. Open to dancers of all levels, for solo dancers or groups.

The next competition is Mix & Match Lindy Hop on Friday 23 May 2025, at approx 9.15pm at Dancehouse – 150 Princes St, Carlton North VIC 3054
This style of competition celebrates social dancing skills. Leaders and followers are randomly paired and judged as a couple while dancing in a spotlight format.
There will be two levels – Open and Advanced. Places are limited to 8 Leaders and 8 Followers in each level.
