Learn to dance in a day and dazzle your friends with your new moves. These workshops are ideal for those wanting to start dancing and don’t know where to begin. Throw yourself in and get dancing in one day – places go fast, so book now!
Throughout the session you will be exposed to the fundamental rhythms of Lindy Hop – six count and eight count Lindy Hop and Lindy Charleston. You may even get some history nuggets during the session. Plenty of water breaks promised also.
Our Dance in a Day workshop will teach you some introductory moves and technique that will allow you to build your confidence and take your dancing to the social floor. This workshop will assume no knowledge.
Also great for dusting off the rust after a break, or for experienced swing dancers exploring their non-dominant dance role.
LOCATION: The Space (Drama Room) – 318 Chapel St, Prahran VIC 3181 [enter via Carlton St]
WHAT TO BRING: Comfortable shoes (most swing dancers don’t wear heels), water bottle, snacks, mints, deodorant, spare t-shirt, small towel, band aids – swing dancing is exercise, and you may well break a sweat, so be prepared.
NO PARTNER REQUIRED: No need to register with a partner. We rotate partners throughout the workshop – a great way to meet new people, all sharing the same fun learning experience.
LEAD OR FOLLOW? This is a partnered dance so you will need to sign up as either a Lead or a Follow. We don’t mind which role you do!
WAITLIST: If your preferred ticket type is sold out, text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311, with your name, the workshop title & date, and which tickets you want, and Swing Patrol will text you back if tickets become available. We try to balance the Lead:Follow ratio for an optimum partner dancing experience.

REFUND POLICY
If you need to cancel due to illness/Covid Safety, a refund will be available as long as you advise Swing Patrol via text to 0412 309 311 before 9am on the day of the workshop.
In the interests of public health and safety, please do not come to this event if you are unwell.
Cancellations for reasons other than Covid Safety: As the venue has a fixed capacity, refunds are not possible without 24 hours notice, as we may have turned away other dancers and need time to give others the opportunity to snap up your spot. Thanks for understanding. Where applicable, a full or partial refund (less administration fee) may be available up to 9am on the day before the event. Contact Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311.
After 9am on the day before the event, no such refunds will be issued.
