Swing Den – A Night for the Cubs of Swing
New to swing dancing? This night is made just for you.
Swing Den is a beginner-friendly social dance, focused on helping new dancers feel comfortable, confident, and part of the community from the moment they walk through the door. No intimidating “rockstar” moves here — just great music, friendly faces, and a relaxed vibe.
Kick things off with a fun introductory lesson, an introduction to six-beat Lindy Hop with pumps, with Arrianne & Scottie. Then enjoy a dance floor designed with beginners in mind. Expect shorter songs (because no one needs a 7-minute marathon when you’re starting out!) and plenty of chances to practice at your own pace. We’ll also have interactive games and light-hearted activities — join in or just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere.
Still feeling that this is a big step? Our teachers will be on hand to roster a “helpers corner”, where there will be a teacher available to ask for a dance, ask some questions or even just have a chat about how it all works.
Come as you are, bring your curiosity, and discover how fun swing dancing can be in a safe, welcoming space.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: If you need to cancel due to illness/Public Health & Safety, a refund will be available as long as you advise Swing Patrol via text to 0412 309 311 before 10am on the day of the event.
Cancellations for reasons other than Public Health & Safety: As the venue has a fixed capacity, refunds are not possible without 24 hours notice, as we may have turned away other dancers and need time to give others the opportunity to snap up your spot. Thanks for understanding. Where applicable, a full or partial refund (less administration fee) may be available up to 5pm on the Thursday before the event. Text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311. After 5pm on the Thursday before the event, no such refunds will be available.
