This 3-week series introduces the foundations of blues dancing, focusing on grounded movement, musicality, and partner connection. Each week builds progressively, giving dancers the tools to feel confident and expressive on the social dance floor.

Week 1: Jukin’ Blues Foundations
We’ll explore the core principles of Jukin’ blues, including posture, pulse, groove, and weight transfer. Students will learn the basics of fishtails while developing comfort with grounded, relaxed movement and musical timing.

Week 2: Ballroomin’ Blues & Dynamic Movement
This week introduces Ballroomin’ blues, focusing on elasticity, stretch, and compression. We’ll work with dynamic movement to create contrast and responsiveness, learning how energy travels between partners.

Week 3: Embrace & Connection in Ballroomin’ Blues
The final week centers on embrace connection within Ballroomin’ blues. Dancers will refine how they use frame, tone, and shared balance to communicate clearly, adapt to different partners, and move with ease and musical intention.

No prior blues experience is required. This series is ideal for new blues dancers or those looking to strengthen their foundations in movement, connection, and musical expression.
