YOUR TEACHERS
LEIGH RICHARDS is one of Brisbane’s (even Australia’s) most experienced follow teachers. An absolute powerhouse as a Lindy Hop and Balboa dancer (former Australian Balboa Champion!) but, more than anything, she is cherished for her fun and almost goofy classes. Leigh brings her infectious humour and wraps that up with her incredible technical dance knowledge.
KAHL SCHEMIONECK may be the only man who can frame a house and a perfect swingout in the same afternoon. By day, he’s a builder—measuring twice, cutting once. By night, he trades his tool belt for dance shoes and teaches swing like it’s a structural masterpiece. He believes everything in life can be fixed with either a hammer or better timing—and honestly, he’s not wrong. Miss a step? That’s just a “renovation opportunity.” Bad posture? “We’ll shore up those foundations.” Can’t find the beat? He’ll probably try to measure it. Students love him for his patience, and the way he says things like, “Let’s build this move from the ground up,” as if you’re about to pour concrete instead of do a swingout.
WAITLIST: If your preferred ticket type is sold out Text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311, with your name, the workshop title, and which tickets you want, and Swing Patrol will text you back if tickets become available, giving you an exclusive Access Code to use for booking within a specific window of time.
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: If you need to cancel due to illness/Public Health & Safety, a refund will be available as long as you advise Swing Patrol via text to 0412 309 311 before 9am on the day of the event.
Cancellations for reasons other than Public Health & Safety: As the venue has a fixed capacity, refunds are not possible without 48 hours notice, as we may have turned away other dancers and need time to give others the opportunity to snap up your spot. Thanks for understanding. Where applicable, a full or partial refund (less administration fee) may be available up to 1.30pm on the Friday prior to the workshop. Text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311. After 1.30pm on the Friday prior to the workshop, no refunds will be issued.
