Sunday Swing Sesh – Social Dance with Live Band!
Throughout 2026, we’re excited to be offering regular social dancing to live community bands, in various locations across Brisbane.
This bi-monthly social dance brings together community musicians and swing dancers.

We’re continuing with the community focus, but this time with a slightly smaller ensemble of community musicians, the Mason Harvey Ensemble, for our swing dancing pleasure!

Taster class
Need a refresher on the basic steps? Then join our guest teachers for a taster class from 2:00-2:30PM. We will then continue with live music and social dancing until 5:00pm.
A bit about the band
Mason Harvey is an up-and-coming jazz saxophonist who studied at the Jazz Music Institute (JMI). He has performed throughout Brisbane at well-known venues including the Brisbane Jazz Club and The Bearded Lady. Mason brings a strong sense of style, musicality, and ensemble awareness to his performances, and continues to develop his voice as a jazz musician.
Other stuff
*Due to the nature of live music and our favourite wooden flooring in dance halls, please consider bringing ear protection if noise is an issue for you. Although not amplified, 15-20 musicians all playing at the same time can create a high level of noise.
**Due to the costs associated with hiring a live band, and hall hire etc, there will not be concession or student ticket prices. If this cost is prohibitive to your attendance at the event please reach out to Monique at Swing Patrol for a confidential chat!**

For cancellations and refunds, text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311.
Where applicable, a full refund (less admin fee) will be available up to 7 days before the event. A 50% refund (less admin fee) will be available up to 5pm on the Wednesday before the event. After 5pm on the Wednesday before the event, no refunds will be issued, but a transfer to another Swing Sesh date may be possible.
Cancellations due to illness/public health & safety: If you are unwell, for the safety of our community, please don’t attend Swing Sesh. Text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311 by 5pm on the day before the event to arrange for a transfer to an alternative Swing Sesh date.
