Learn to dance and dazzle your friends with your new moves. These workshops are ideal for those who want to start dancing and don’t know where to begin. Throw yourself in and we’ll get you dancing in just one session.
Throughout the session you will be exposed to one of the fundamental rhythms of swing dancing – eight count Lindy Hop. Meet the superstar move of Lindy Hop, the Swingout! You may even get some history nuggets along the way.
In this workshop we’ll teach you some introductory moves and technique that will allow you to build your confidence and take your dancing to the social floor. Absolutely no previous experience required.
Also great for dusting off the rust after a break, or for experienced swing dancers exploring their non-dominant dance role.

WHAT TO BRING: Comfortable shoes (most swing dancers don’t wear heels), water bottle, snacks, mints, deodorant, spare t-shirt, small towel – swing dancing is exercise, and you may well break a sweat ;)

NO PARTNER REQUIRED: No need to register with a partner. We change partners throughout the workshop – a great way to meet new people, all sharing the same fun learning experience.

LEAD OR FOLLOW? This is a partnered dance so you will need to sign up as either a Lead or a Follow. We don’t mind which role you do! If you’re registering for yourself and a friend, you can book a Pair Pass (for 1 x Lead and 1 x Follow) in a single transaction.

WAITLIST: If your preferred ticket type is sold out, text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311, with your name, the workshop title & date, and which tickets you want, and Swing Patrol will text you back if tickets become available. We try to balance the Lead:Follow ratio for an optimum partner dancing experience.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY: If you need to cancel due to illness/Public Health & Safety, a refund will be available as long as you advise Swing Patrol via text to 0412 309 311 before 9am on the day of the event.

Cancellations for reasons other than Public Health & Safety: As the venue has a fixed capacity, refunds are not possible without 48 hours notice, as we may have turned away other dancers and need time to give others the opportunity to snap up your spot.
