Swing Patrol is delighted to offer a special opportunity to learn a swing dance routine, aimed at performing at the Swing Spring Show & Dance Party 2026.
By popular demand, we’re bring Swing Patrol back to the western suburbs, holding a dedicated course to teach a swing dance routine.
Want to deepen your understanding of musicality and the flow of movement in swing dancing? Learning a routine is a fun way to progress your skills, build your confidence and get some new moves under your belt.
Do you love working with a group toward a common goal? Enjoy the cameraderie found in a dance class learning a routine.
Are you keen for more chances to strut your stuff and show off? Here’s another opportunity to shine as you learn a routine to perform at the Spring Swing Show, and maybe elsewhere in the community.
The routine will be aimed at Level 2/intermediate and above. Assumption will be that anyone joining in will know the basics (Swing out, 6 and 8 beat rhythms, Charleston).
Dates: Mondays 6, 13, 20 & 27 July, 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 August, and 7 September 2026.
This routine course runs for 10 consecutive weeks, Mondays 6 July – 7 September, for one hour each night, 7.15 – 8.15pm.
If you can’t make it to every session, we can accommodate, but it’s preferable if you can attend the majority of sessions. If you miss some weeks, you may need to do a bit of catching up in your own time, via recap videos.
Cost:
$170 online – Book online for the full course, for the equivalent of $17.00 per session.

We’re back in the west, with good parking front and rear, and many buses and a train station nearby.
Your teacher/choreographer:
Asha is a much-beloved member of the Melbourne swing community, and an absolute all-rounder. She dances all the swing styles. She’s experienced as a teacher, performer and social dancer, as both a lead and a follow. As an anchor/teacher at Swing Patrol’s Sunbury venue, she co-choreographed several memorable routines for previous Spring Swing Shows. Asha will bring her trademark warmth and enthusiasm to this course, and usher you through all the fun of learning and the excitement of performing a unique routine.

Performers tickets will go on sale on 31 July.
If you can’t make the event, or you’re not keen on performing, you can still take part in the course, to build your skills and enjoy a fun learning experience.
